Safe Kids Savannah

The Next Generation Proudly Partners with Safe Kids Savannah

Did you know that accidental injury is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 14? Safe Kids Savannah is a local coalition of organizations and concerned individuals with the common goal of preventing accidental childhood injuries and deaths.

Thanks to membership dollars and generous donations, The Next Generation is proud to provide funding for Safe Kids Savannah. Safe Kids Savannah has four programs that help to educate parents on preventing accidents with their children: 1) Buckle UP provides Car Seat Check Up Events and Car Seat Inspection Stations, 2) Walk this Way promotes walking to school in a safe manner, 3) Ready to Roll provides education on bike helmet use and hosts bike rodeos for children to promote wearing helmets while riding bikes, 4) Kids Don’t Float provides life jacket loaner boards at various boat ramps across our area.

Last year, Safe Kids Savannah reached 22,000 children and adults, held 54 child safety seat inspection stations, 28 child safety seat classes, and distributed 148 car seats and 59 bike helmets within our local community.
