Who We Are

The Next Generation is a volunteer organization founded to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. The Next Generation is comprised of young professionals, neighbors, parents, and friends throughout Savannah and the Coastal Empire who are interested in donating their time, talents, and financial resources to the patients and families of The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.

Our Mission

To foster a positive healthcare experience and further advance the local medical care for our community's children, through fundraising, volunteer service and educational social events.

Accomplishments

In its first two years, The Next Generation has:
• Raised over $100,000 to support The Children's Hospital at Memorial; $60,000 raised from the first two annual Barbeque, Brews and Bluegrass Fall Fundraiser
• Built out and stocked the Toy Lending Library for Exceptional Children, providing developmental toys for children to check out and use during their therapy
• Provided 60 Birthday and "End of Chemotherapy" celebrations to pediatric patients in the hospital.
• Decorated the three pediatric halls 20 times with various holiday and seasonal decorations
• Hosted five educational social events for parents
• Collected over 1,000 toys, gift cards, books, DVDs, coloring books and crayons from our members and through partnerships with other local organizations and schools
• Purchased flat screen TVs and DVD players for all patient rooms in The Children's Hospital
• Co-sponsored a city-wide band-aid drive, collecting over 110,000 character band-aids (a 5 year supply for the hospital)
